I'm stoked! I got a new book to read and not only is it cool, it's a Brian K. Vaughan book! So, you should probably also be pretty excited and if you're not, you've clearly never read one of his books before. I could tell you to pick up a copy of Y the Last Man, Runaways or Ex Machina (and if you've already been there and done that, then try finding a copy of Pride of Baghdad or the The Escapists), but in truth you don't need to go looking for his other work because if you're quick enough, you can probably find a copy of his new book in stores right now. And let me tell you, it's good! It could be great! We're only one issue in, so it's still early, but we have epic space conflicts on alien worlds, fornicating robots (who's not going to love that?), interspecies relationships rearing babies and it's all laced with trademark Vaughan dialogue! Sci-fi or space fantasy, I don't want to quibble with the purists out there, is a new genre for him to explore but within ten or twenty pages you know you're in good hands. Fiona Staples gives us the pretty pictures, both penciling and colouring each page and doing a fine job with bold and strong line work.  It's all here, people! The makings of the next great comic book! And we're here, you and I, together, on the ground floor of Mr. Vaughan's newest adventure. If you've already read it, then you know what I'm talking about and if not, you need only drop two hundred and ninety-nine pennies into the hand of the man behind the counter at your local comic shop and open the cover (I wouldn't recommend taking that last bit literally, some comic shop people are grouchy and don't relish counting pennies).
