I'll be the first to admit, it's a new age for rap. I can't say that I'm completely at ease with that though...but I ain't mad at it either. Change is inevitable, without a doubt, and I suppose sometimes downing a triple shot of that raw, new-age Hyphy will knock you back once in a while. With Word Pimpin' 2: We Don't Need You, that's exactly what you can expect, nothin' but street certified Oaktown gems. It's the newest edition of the Word Pimpin' series, this time around from E-HUSTL, continues on where B-Legit left off. Featuring Keak Da Sneak, Baby S. and Q-2, the album contains twenty or so tracks that give you a real heavy dose of rideout bangers. There's a couple guest appearances by West Coast legends Snoop Dogg and E-40 Fonzarelli, although the majority of the cuts are handled by Keak and his boys. The album comes across with a mixtape feel, and at times it seemed there was an overwhelming amount of music to digest. Could be the fact that it's hard to truly get down with the Scokland sound unless you's actually in the Bay. Keep it super duper Hyphy and check this new CD from some of the rawest artists holdin' down the Yay today.
