Method Man & Redman - Ayo
Tuesday, March 10, 2009
print

Label: Def Jam

Classic singles. Underground respect. Mainstream love. Their solo careers have enough legs to run marathons. Method Man and Redman have their own distinct styles and ten years ago at the apex of their popularity the duo chest bumped on wax with Blackout. After touring the shit out of that album on the Hard Knock Life Tour, they went on to various ventures with mixed results. Fast forward to the present and the puff puff pass brothers are back with their highly anticipated sequel. Saukrates lends his talents to the first single Ayo with Red and Meth picking up where they left off without skipping a beat. Consummate professionals, these two know how to give ‘em what they want while two steppin’ all over the beat with razor sharp precision. Witty lyricism and quirky punchlines coupled with a sick piano loop and ill horns give this jam a dope kick back feel. Wu’s most animated and Def Squad’s zaniest are back in the ring to knock wack rappers the fuck out.
