If the streets are hungry, the streets need to eat. The T-Dot’s new ambassador is servin' it up, even if it’s in short form. Drake’s story is ridiculous but to break it down, this kid from Canada has been on the grind for a sec and once he caught the attention of some of Hip-Hop’s elite, it was over. His dope mixtapes and incredibly crafted guest verses have everybody waiting to hear from the Degrassi alum. If you don’t even have a proper album out yet and you’re on Jay-Z’s Blueprint III, something is going very right for you. So Far Gone is a quick introduction to an emcee whose future is looking bright. The mood is definitely "kick back" as this double threat sings and raps his way through seven butter jams. UGK vet Bun B single-handedly steals the show on Uptown with his consistent sickness. Introspective and heartfelt are two words that describe the vibe throughout the project. It’s tough to shine when Lil' Wayne is on your tracks but Drake is confident that he’s got what it takes to attract attention. The labels that lost out in the bidding war should be very concerned.
