If you don't have electronic elements in your songs today you might as well quit. Most of this year's chart topping singles were electro-infused. Rappers, rockers, pop tarts, etc. Basing your entire sound on a sub-genre is a risky move but Far*East Movement chose to fly head first into the ring with Free Wired, and so far they're laughing all the way to the ATM. Building off the blueprint their friends LMFAO laid down, FM pull no punches pumping out bass-heavy heat rocks for those who like to get their sweat on. Usually with an artist who's sound is beatcentric, lyrics are moot. That's not the case with these cats who manage to bridge the gap between beats and rhymes. For those actually listening, Rocketeer (featuring Ryan Tedder), Don't Look Now (featuring Keri Hilson), and especially the brilliant Fighting For Air are prime examples of this fine balance. White Flag is another head-knocker solidifying Far*East Movement's party rock status with a sinister, sing-along hook. For those still banging Like A G6, Free Wired will satiate your hunger for more. Whether you're in the mood for some music to ride to or you need something to blast outta the speakers before you hit the club, this, my friends, is it.
